At the Bald Head Island Club, you’ll find everything from elegant multi-course dinners to quick bites with a view of the greens. The Grille, which overlooks the driving range, offers seasonal dishes with coastal flair, while the Palms and Horizons provide relaxed settings perfect for lunch after a round of golf or cocktails and dinner at sunset.

Overlooking Cape Fear, lunch or dinner at the oceanfront Shoals Club comes with a sea breeze and sweeping views. Enjoy fine dining at AQUA, tapas-style coastal fare at Latitudes, or a laid-back lunch or dinner at the poolside Sandbar Grille.

If you’re staying at the Inn during the summer and want to experience the island’s most elegant dining venues, we suggest  you make reservations well in advance at both The Grille and AQUA, as they tend to book up quickly.

The Shoals Club pool is perched just above the beach, offering stunning ocean views and poolside drink service. Near the pool deck, a private boardwalk connects you directly to South Beach and the legendary point of Cape Fear. Staff are ready with towels, umbrellas and beach chairs should the need arise.

Meanwhile, the Bald Head Island Club features an impressive aquatics complex, along with a robust racquet program—complete with tennis and pickleball courts, private lessons, and clinics for all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just picking up a paddle, there’s a warm welcome waiting.

Our Favorite Place on the Island: The Golf Course
We think the Bald Head Island Club golf course is one of the most beautiful anywhere, and we’re not alone—the course is consistently rated one of the top 100 resort courses in America. As you wind along dunes and through the maritime forest, you may encounter deer, foxes, osprey, egrets and even alligators who call the course home.

One of our favorite things is chatting with guests after they experience a round of golf here. They always comment on the wildlife and natural beauty. Truth be told, many of them return year after year just for the chance to play it again.
